Phonologue, l'auteur est directeur de recherche au CNRS et travaille au laboratoire Bases, Corpus, Langage (UMR 7320) sis à l'Université de Nice Sophia Antipolis. Il a publié en 2004 A Lateral Theory of Phonology. Vol.1: What is CVCV, and why should it be? dont le volume 2 Direct Interface and One-Channel Translation. A Non-Diacritic Theory of the Morphosyntax-Phonology Interface a paru en 2012. Entre ces deux ouvrages a été publié A Guide to Morphosyntax-Phonology Interface Theories. How Extra-Phonological Information is Treated in Phonology since Trubetzkoy's Grenzsignale en 2011.
